Radio Ministry Celebrates 18 Years on the Air |
|
April 1, 2008 marks a significant milestone for our church...it is the 18th anniversary of our Radio Ministry on KRKO-AM!
Music, words, stoires, and inspirational contributions from many people over the years have collectively been blended together to provide a valuable program and service to Everett and many surrounding communities. The weekly radio program airs on Sunday mornings at 8:02 am on KRKO-AM 1380. Under the leadership of Ralph Solberg and services of the Radio Ministry Team, the congregation of Everett First Presbyterian Church is able to share our worship celebration with others via the radio airwaves. Tune to KRKO am 1380 on Sunday morning and you will hear uplifting messages from our clergy or guest speakers. Enjoy the music of our Chancel Choir, soloists, or one of our special choirs. At times, you will also get a chance to experience the children's messages, where anything can happen. The Radio Program is our congregation's "gift to the community". This radio minsistry is part of our work to join the mission of Jesus Christ in service to the world. |

Dinner at the Bell 5th Anniversary |
|
April 28, 2008 marks the 5th Anniversary of Dinner at the Bell. Sam Rarig and Shirley Morrow were the first organizers. At first, dinner was served once a month, then it soon became twice a month. On October 6, 2004, they started serving a meal every week. Four teams were soon organized to help in planning, cooking, setting up and clean up. What have we done in the 5 years? Dinner at the Bell has: - Served over 14,000 meals
- Made freinds among our guests that we would never had the opportunity to know
- Made our church a welcoming place for all people
- Gained a better understanding of the difficulties and trials others face
- Become more thankful for what we have in our church—faith, support and more!
- Developed special relationships with others who serve
- Understood how much people care about others
- Provided a place for many to help both from within our church and out
Thank you to all who have served in this Mission to those in need. And thank you to Shirley and Sam for your inspired leadership and vision. |
